Cygnus (Leda)

by Andrei Dorian Gheorghe

Full of emotion,
I kissed the Swan.

"Why are you so sad?"
she asked me.
"For you will go
to found a constellation, Swan!
You are so beautiful,
but I must remain myself!"
"Do not regret! Someday
a wonderful girl will choose you
as her prince,
and you'll forget me!"

"Dear Swan,
I know the flight is not for me,
but forget the treacherous god, please,
and take me with you!"
"It's too late, young prince!
Don't cry! Good bye!"
she said, slowly disappearing
from my dream.

Today, in the summertime,
I look at the clear skies,
and am still happy when she sends me
emotions of light
through her main stars
Albireo and Deneb.
