Orion

by Zigmund Tauberg

When the autumn rules,
a proud and powerful hunter
appears brightening at horizon,
in the northern sky,

with fire glow worms at his eyes
and a belt at his waist,
adorned by three flowers
glittering through living colours.

Veneration to you, proud hunter,
for you come to us with flowers and glow worms
when they die on Earth,
and, in the spring, you retire discreet,
when their time comes back again.
