Taurus

by Andrei Dorian Gheorghe

I was the first lover of Europe --
she who was kidnapped by the marine Bull.
I wanted so much a revenge
by crushing him in the crying of the salt!

After that, I trained myself
for a few years,
helped by some excellent gladiators,
and learning a lot about death.

Being much stronger,
I looked for yhe Bull
and found him in a heavenly palace.
What a pity,
he was protected by the entire world!

"Run," they said to me,
"otherwise, you will regret.
Run quickly, otherwise,
the Earth will be broken,
and the Sun will be destroyed!"

"So, that is what you want:
the Bull to be absolved!" I replied.
I can understand all of you, but for me
you are a foreign world.

*

After so many years,
I am still irreconcilable.

So don't tell me
about his bright star Aldebaran,
about his nice Hyades,
or about his diamond Pleiades.

All I know is my defeat
because of the God Bull,
even if I could knock him out
by only one hit.
